Mark Cavendish is the man of the moment in world cycling. It's still a pity that most of the press forget to give him the credit he deserves. Hopefully he can come away with a gold this week in Poland.

Great seeing a Brit win a classic...waited years for this - bravo Cav. Last years tour was great, but this really tops it for me!

Simply awesome - best Sportsman in UK by far on results at present. Hopefully he will get more media exposure which will raise profile of road-racing. God knows we need it!

CAVENDISH!
Still, nice to know Kermit found a new career after The Muppet Show.

Agreed Svetty...good to see him spank Boonen as well...can we hope for a victory in Belgium as well? I read Cav fancies Ghent-Wevelgem, but I'd love to see him take the Tour of Flanders. I'll get some Chimay in...just in case.

Its not that the press forgot to give him the credit he deserves, the British press and sport media don’t have the faintest idea of the importance and heritage of this race and other single day classics. As far as they’re concerned he simply won another sprint. No more important than winning a stage of the Tirreno-Adriatico or tour of Ireland.

Basically, he'll never win the TdF, so he's second rate in the eye's of the Brit media.

If it was Wiggins I'm sure it would have been different.

Great coverage of the World Track Championships on Eurosport HD in Poland too.

Yep...still winning medals, even when its seems they're experimenting.
What are folks predictions for the classiks? I'm going for a predictable Boonen for Flanders and Ballan for Paris Roubaix. Hope Cav can sneak G-Wevelgem. Should be a great few weeks.

Definitely a favourite for Ghent-Wevelgem.

Mat
I think Sylvian Chavenel will do well in the Tour of Flanders. Especially now that he rides for Quickstep.
I hope you will be entering a team in the British Eurosport TDF fantasy league.

And more wins for both Cav and Wiggins yesterday.

Great win for Divolder today...proving last year was no fluke.

I suspect he was a bit embarrassed putting it on. Other members of the team deserved it more.

Well he's still wearing it on day 2
