"Toast

Now - who the hell did that?"

Jonathon, I believe it was Ian Dury and The Blockheads, who also had other hits such as "Hit Me With You Rhythm Stick' etc..

Cheers

Mick said:"Terry by Twinkle....saw her live at Swindon and she was crap and I mean really really crap. But it was a pleasant little song."

Pleasant?! As I recall, it was about a fatal motorbike accident, and the song was rather ghoulishly sung to the deceased biker....
A sixties curio - you can probably still see her live at Swindon's Wyvern Theatre - 'The magic of Twinkle', every three months... wink

How about 'Captain of my Ship' by Reparata and the Delrons?

Surely it was "Captain of Your Ship" ?

3 albums? That was certainly stretching Otways talents a little thin. Any other good ones on there?

How about Ten Pole Tudor Wunderbar! . I used to see him in a pub off the Edgeware Rd. He appeared in one of The sex pistols films .

Hi,

They all have some good tracks on and their was a best of called Gone with the bin with most of the good ones, the first two are the ones to get the self titled first one and Deep and Meaningless, that will give you some good tracks like Racing cars, Really Free Beware Of The Flowers ('cause I'm sure they're going to get you yeh!), Cheryl's Going Home etc. Check out http://www.doremi.co.uk/otway/

The great John Cooper-Clarke went on to greater things, most recently in public doing bradsheet newspaper ads on the radio - The Telegraph, was it ?

... and Eddie Tenpole somewhow ended replacing the superb Richard O'Brien presenting The Crystal Maze.

Sounds good to me.

Brian,

Careful now, display any more knowledge of popular culture and you'll loose your Judge status.

You're a man of school-boy humour, just like me, so go check out Dom Jolly - you won't be disappointed.

WHat about the follow-up "Didn't you kill by brother?"

"didn't you kill, didn't you kill, didn't you kill my Brother. didn't you kill, didn't you kill, didn't you kill my Brother - I like a laugh" cool
