Cycle Routes/Trails

Posted by: Occean on 19 August 2005

Can anyone recommend any book or websites for cycling routes/trails, I am looking for both off road (woods etc) and cycleways.

I am finding it difficult to find a reference for such routes. i.e. I am in Leamington Spa with my girlfriend this weekend and would like to know where to go if I wanted to do some cycling, but getting nothing but the council’s paved cycle routes on google searches.

Try Sustrans for national cycle network routes.

The AA publish a series of books called

Pub Walks and Cycle Rides
for several regions
Amazon sell them so do a search at Amazon looking for the above series title

I have the South Downs and South Coast one and it does cover non tarmacced trails

Cycling without Traffic: The Midlands and Peak District by Nick Cotton is pretty good.

The Tissington Trail is a good ride and is not a million miles away from Leamington.

Steve.
