You really should get out more.
Not that sort of plug.
I hope you've got that 160 facing Salisbury. It'll sound better that way.
Do you still want that Michael Rother stuff or have you got your own?

I caught the Bob Harris show at weekend whilst extolling the virtues of my recently aquired Tivoli Model 1 to one of my neighbours.
We both enjoyed the range of the material played,quite a bit of the more unusual stuff that you don't normally hear on the radio.
If that was a typical example of the show,I must make more of an effort to catch it more often.
It kinda reminded me of when I used to listen to the Friday Rock Show with Tommy Vance ( over 20 years ago)

Chris,
Now you're talking!
I used to creep around late at night, trying not to disturb my parents, whilst feeding my Ferguson Studio 20D with tapes to record the annual Reading Festival amongst others.
That and listening to Radio Active and trying to piss myself laughing, but quietly so as not to give away the fact there was a radio hidden under the bed and an earphone connected to it...

I'd like to bump this one up again (if I may be so bold).
The playlist for this show could have been ripped from The Music Room. As has already been stated the list typically includes names like;
Calexico
Nitin Sawhney
Thea Gilmore
The Kings of Leon
Porcupine Tree
Tom McRae
thru' to older classics from;
Zepplin
Richard Thompson
Bob Dylan
and so on.
For obvious reasons I can't listen to this show live, but guess what ? Recordings of the shows are available over the internet for up to seven days. The system is a little unwieldy, ie you hit "Play" and listen from beginning to the end of the show rather than being able to hit specific tracks, but I suppose this would have copyright implications.
For me it's really fantastic to have this show available and to hear much of the music discussed in The Music Room. Anyone outside the UK might like to try it.

Thanks for resurrecting this one. Bob continues to introduce me to great new music.
Just received 'Eastmountainsouth' heard on the show a couple of weeks back - beautiful atmospheric harmonies.
It's refreshing to note that this is on 'Dreamworks' and it's about musical excellence; not pretty people with the right image.
Management: Hugo Vereker - any relation?
Thanks Bob - Don't retire!
10pm to 1am Saturday nights on BBC Wireless 2.
