Google - does anybody here use anything else?

Microsoft seems to be a bit miffed about Google making lots of money out of the internet and is plunging lots of dollars into getting a bigger share of the "search market".

I have used Google exclusively for a long time now and was wondering if anybody here uses another search engine than Google with any regularity?

(I'm not counting the Naim Forum as a search engine...)

Deane

I used to use http://www.alltheweb.com/ but now it is almost exclusively google because it is built in to the Safari web browser. I do use search engines within Wikis without noting what they are.

I wouldn't trust a Microsoft search engine - as I'd feel it would present a biased response to me. Paranoid perhaps - but would it return the latest exploits against Microsoft when I searched for them?

Dogpile is better. I still mostly use Google for the convenience factor as ROTF suggests above, but I usually get more interesting results from Dogpile.

ixquick has a policy of deleting search enquirers now if you value this then look at this engine otherwise I use google sometimes through a proxy and sometimes not.

I use google exclusively, but lets not kid ourselves here.

Type in tiananmen square firstly in google.com and the google.cn (chinese google)

They are all businesses and therefore bastards. I don't suppose Microsoft would be any worse or better in this regard.
