I perhaps should have put it in the I don't get it thread - but the Manics, Coldplay, Radiohead et al are a mystery to me (not keen on Fleetwood Mac either - not to be confused with Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac who I think are great).
Anyways, click here, Gianluigi and Nuno, to hear my favourite song about a shirt.
Sorry it's not by MSP.
Don't worry Nuno - there must be some MSP fans on the forum, but I doubt there are many people who think my old copy of Angelo Branduardi's alla fiera dell'est is a great record.

I save Radiohead.
About Coldplay i remember a summer in a seaside camping and that was the only record playin' in the bar together with Zero7.
I have Zero7 record but don't listen to it.
Never.

ROTF.
That song is one of the first i learned when very young.
A very nice song from a very eccentric musician.
But i could not buy the record again today.

What I most like in MSP are the lyrics and the typical musicality of the band!

Then you like them completely.

Whenever I've heard their songs, they sound like they start out with the "big finish", with the string section going full chat and the gongs going and the guitars crashing power chords and I'm wondering; "have I missed the first 10 minutes of this epic?".
Very odd.
Very odd.

Gianluigi, Which album?
Have you NEVER listened to it? In which case, DO!!!

Or you have listened to it, but now don't? In which case I'll let you have my e-mail for off-forum discussing...!!!

All the best,
James

I can't bear Manic Street Preachers, Travis, Coldsickplay, etc. YAWN
Radiohead is a different matter.
Radiohead is a different matter.

I saw the manics play paris back in errr '99 or '00. put on a good show they did.
as a band I find them constantly on the edge of boring (with the possible exception of 'motorcycle emptiness'); they must surely get the award for the band to take themselves most seriously.
the thing you can rely on with the release of any new manics release is how they earnestly believe they're the most important unrecognised as important band in the world.
haven't heard the new one yet.
