Internet traffic monitor

My ntlworld broadband connection keeps dropping out for hours at time. It has been off since Sat 1pm, on again now.
Can anyone recommend a monitor program I can run on a PC to monitor the internet connection and record periods when it is off, so I can get NTL some facts about how crap thier service is?

You think they don't know already? 
Just tried a Google on "connection monitor" has some hits that might be what you want.My ADSL modem programme has a diagnostic panel which shows error seconds, breaks, AIS and such like, might help your case. I think you could be on the end of a long queue though.
