Nait3 to Nac92 Conversion + Nap140

Posted by: Blobdang on 15 November 2002

Owing to budget limitations I am considering smaller upgrades than previously planned (was to be new NAC102 & NAP180's to replace my Nait. This is on the back-burner for another year - hey-ho frown ).

How about converting my Nait3 to a NAC92 partnered with a NAP140? Will there be a noticeable difference in performance? If so, what changes will I hear? Any alternartives?

Sorry four questions in one paragraph, thats quite enough!

My dealers also recommending replacing my K9 with an Adikt - any thoughts?

And another one!

All ears..

I think a 92/140 is WAY better than the Nait3. But if money is an issue, wouldn't you be better off selling the Nait 3 and buying a used 32.5? or 32/42//42.5/62?

Regards.

1) re-built Karma and K boards
2) Dedicated support for Sondek
3) Place CD5 further away from NAIT/FLAT
4) Save dosh and flog off NAIT for 102/NAPSC/HI/140 next year

Answers assume that vinyl is your primary source, otherwise substitute 1) Dynavector DV10x4 Mk2 for 1) & 2) above and substitute 3) Trade CD5/FLAT for used CDX(/XPS) next year for 3) & 4).

Geoff,

Have replied to your mail. At the risk of repeating myself, the cheapest way forward is to sell the Nait3 and get a 72/140. Net cost, around £400 or thereabouts, and you can sell on the 72/140 either together or individually for the same money you paid!
