Tori Amos in Concert...

I've seen her twice on her current tour and needless to say I'm in awe...

The concert tonight was in a much larger and more sterile venue than the last but she still carried the crowd from the rockinest of songs to her quietest of whispers...

the soundsystem was mediocre as the bass seemed to resonate far too loudly and muddy up the piano and vocals. but she is amazing at accompanying herself and otherwise playing with the vocal effects...

hopefully her next album will be another live album with some of her incredible b-sides!

now to get my gear in line with the music and see if i can recreate some tori magic...

Heard Tori about 4 or 5 years ago in Sheffield when she was doing the "choirgirl hotel" tour. It was a relatively small venue, and was a fantastic gig. Great musicianship, great vocals, great band and great songs. (She looks pretty foxy too! Wink)

Missed out on the last tour, as all the tickets were sold out by the time I got round to booking. The gig was at the Albert Hall too, as I recall, which didn't seem like an ideal venue for her stuff. Looses a lot of the intimacy of the music I think.

Cheers
