New Iron Maiden

A Matter of Life and Death is pretty much everything it's cracked up to be. Certain tracks remind me of Dance of Death a lot. So no surprises there. Good energy, and they're on form. I expect it will take a couple of listens to sort it out in my head.

But the real surprise is that it's actually recorded quite well. Miracles will never cease.

I hope the trend and/or engineers make their way over to Lemmy and all....

Cheers

Gotta say that I agree with you, on both counts.

Brighter Than A Thousand Suns really gets me... classic Maiden with some real strength in its' subtle passages.

Am really a vinyl nut though, and am quite p'd off with the shoddy quality of the picture disc pressings... the detail's all there, but so's enough surface noise to make Pete Townshend complain!

Maybe its their combined efforts with Naim to get me to replace my Mimik with a CDX2??? Winker

Sorry to hear the vinyl's disappointing.

The middle three tracks are really growing on me. They quite took me by suprise, actually. This album's even better than I thought.

Cheers

It's all relative isn't it.
Got all their stuff in one way or another - quite literally if there's a version of a track been released I have it on one format or another... think I currently have FIVE different live version of Transylvania to choose from....

The last decent vinyl pressing they released was the Live at Donington '92 triple vinyl.

Every pressing since then has been a collector's pic disc or red vinyl or some such thing... The attention to detail just isn't there.

On the other hand, CD reproduction from Maiden has got better and better over the last 6 years.

If I want to hear Losfer Words I'll use my TT, but for Montsegur it'll be the Mimik!!
