The Ozrics are great musicians that play the bits between the bits in the sliding gliding world of erpsongs and caused a jurassic shift that lead to vitamin enhanced arborescence.

Is it only munch that likes 'em? Or would you admit to owning an Ozric elpee or three (whoops bit of a give away) or even one of those free cassettes they used to do.

Personally, I don't like their lyrics much, but otherwise a great band.

I like the Ozrics but only discovered them after I joined this place.

I have on CD

Erpland
Strangeitute
Pungent Effulgent

and another one on 1.5 vinyl i.e. only three sides have tunes opn them the fourth is (intentionally) left blank.

The link to them was asking about anyone in a similar vein to Steve Hillage who is also not discussed much here

I've got most of them, and the cassettes. Smile

Managed to catch them live a couple of times too.

Only have this cd of the Ozric Tentacles. Previously enjoyed and seen Steve Hillage who must surely have influenced these guys. Would like to have seen the Ozrics at some stage. The sound is airy, swirling, colorful, and spacey. Sometimes the music rocks out, sometimes it wanders down more ethereal pathways. Of course, it's (nearly) all instrumental, as vocals would just be an unnecessary distraction.

Not played it that often.

WOW!,
Never thought the Ozric's would get a mention on here, ive seen them so many times at various festivals.

A really great live band, they released a live album which was very good but my fav is their first Pungent Effulgent.

I haven't purchased anything by them for years but they certainly had released a lot of CD's by the mid 90's, lots of old recordings that were originally only released on tape were released on CD.

My 'L' doesn't look like that either.

Good to see the Ozrics get a mention here, lots of good albums. They are very inventive with the way they fuse space rock, prog, reggae, eastern music. I was introduced to them by my friend Paul who used to buy records on the basis of the cover, which led him to buy Erpland.

I have
Sliding Gliding Worlds
Erpland
Become the Other
Jurassic Shift
Pungent Effulgent
Live at the Pongmaster's Ball (great title!)
Strangetude
Spirals in Hyperspace

I couldn't really keep up with their vast output though, and generally prefer the earlier albums anyway

There is a great live album (Underslunky) which I have a very old tape of in my car cassette player which I need to get on CD

Inspired by this thread, I'm now playing "Live At the Pongmaster's Ball"
