Yes but only new items from an authorized dealer.

Some dealers use Ebay to sell things, such as Gene Rubin Audio. They are simply using it as an easy way to sell some items and use paypal etc...

I bought a Wiremold and Tibia from him online. He still calls or emails you directly to discuss things if needed.

When he emailed to confirm the order, we ended up talking on the phone for a while. Then I ordered my Crimson RCA-to-DIN from him while on the phone.

As in all things, there are exceptions to the rule of "DONT BUY OFF EBAY".

I wouldn't buy anything more important than that on Ebay though and NEVER if not an Authorized Dealer.

I have and have always had good service, I always make sure that I collect the item and pay cash, I have bought... Motorbikes/Cars/Naim/Breitling....KOI...Just make sure the seller has a good feedback, and as I say collection is always safer

I bought a S/H Naim PS for less than half price recently and it's good. Checked the Serial Number with Naim before buying to make sure it was authentic.

Also picked up and paid cash.

Bought a pair of SBLs, I did collect them though.
Usual warnings apply check the guys feedback, look at their previous purchases, back your PayPal by Credit card, etc. It's just seems the thing to knock e-bay. Of course the bloke down the pub's brother got ripped for thousands etc. etc.therefore all E-Bay transactions are flawed.

I bought both my FC2 and Nait 5i via E-Bay and was completely satisfied with both.

In four uears, I have had to send back two items (both books) for undisclosed damage. Both were completely refunded with apologies.

Read all small print and use common sense!

Bought my NAC52, NAP250 as well as my CDS2 and XPS-2 from eBay. Sold stuff there too. Never a problem if you use common sense and basic precautions (although that sounds like an ad for safe sex!).

Cheers

I haven't read all these posts, but I did read the first response to your question - by Patrick I believe (pcstockton) - and I wholeheartedly agree with what he says:

Always use a trusted dealer, as I have ALMOST been scammed for well over 2000 due to my ignorant greed.

I have bought a 552 and a pair of SL2s on ebay with no problems at all. And I have sold a 252, a 250.2, some SBLs, the same SL2s, a CDS3, an XPS2 and various bits and bobs. You need to look for impeccable feedback, speak to the seller on the phone, and ideally meet up. Basically, use your common sense, and if something looks to good to be true, it's a scam.

Over the years I have bought a CDS2, XPS, HICAP, 250, 82, SNAPS.

Never had any issues.

One thing though I would do is ask a seller if he has had his gear serviced. Otherwise if you want to keep your gear sounding good it could end up costing you a lot extra.

Sound advice.

Bought half my set and other stuff through Ebay without a problem. Always mailed first to contact the seller and tries to make as sure as possible it's a genuine sale.

Bought a few bits on ebay and everything has worked out eventually. Bought a 250 at a good price because it was pickup only. Seller agreed to ship if I sent a box, plan B was easyjet there and back in a day for slightly more than parcelfarce. Chatted for about an hour on life the universe and everything and then satisfied that he was genuine sent a box with a cheque.

Seller then disappeared off the face of the planet. Moved house. Eventually tracked him down and he was most appologetic. In the move the box and my contact details had been misplaced. Virgin had failed to connect his new broadband so he hadn't been able to get back on to ebay to contact me. Sent another box and all's sorted. Even with servicing the 250 was still good value.

On the subject of feedback don't be put off by negative feedback without first reading it. Recently got negative feedback for a secondhand back protector I sold as the buyer said it was "dirty". Foolish of me to have used it in the proximity of horses.... (was described as having cosmetic marks).
