Any one using Music Collector on a MAC?

Posted by: BigH47 on 11 November 2008

I converted from the PC version and several "issues" have occurred.
1 bizarrely all the the formats that = CD became SHMCD OK easily fixed.
2 I can't find a way of getting a vertical split screen
3 like iTunes the MAC don't seem to to alphabetic lists very well. Previously in list view (no folders) I could go up and down the list using the letter to go to the first artist with that letter(in my system 1st letter of group and 1st letter of artist surname. MAC version tends to go to the first artist/group with that letter as first or second name and it won't search backwards(up and down).
The MuCollectorz forum seems to think point 3 is right.
Anyone with any insights?

How are you? I was in London for exactly 2 hours of layover this weekend. Sorry I couldnt stay longer to see you guys.

I am a mac user too. I used to use Music Collector and I liked it for a while but then it got a little fussy with the sorting like you say. There is a way to fix the sorting by going in to the edit window and changing the sort view, but I cant remember very well. What I do remember is the software being a bit buggy in the mac version. So I dropped it and went to Delicious Library. I like it because it lets you use your Icam to scan the barcodes and automatically enters the info in the database. You just wave the cd case in front of the camera and it pops in with all the info from amazon. Dont work on old vinyl with no barcoding, but what does?

I wish I could help you more. But I do suggest taking a look at Delicious.

Thanks John good to hear from you, I thought you might have had a longer time in the UK, next time perhaps?
Re: music collector it is a real pain that it does not behave as well in MAC guise as the PC version was fine for me. I'll check out Delicious( great title at least).
