iLIKETRAINS

Has anyone picked up on the oddly titled group, iLIKETRAINS ? I've just heard what is their debut album, Present Reforms, and they have a very interesting sound, and a lyrisist who probably should get some kind of help, perhaps from Rasher. They also have a 9 minute single out this week, about the assasination of a Prime Minister, should be worth hearing, although I'm not sure which Prime Minister is involved.

i would venture that if you enjoyed the decemberists, or say patrick wolf, you would find iliketrains much to your taste. i would have added arcade fire to the list, but whilst they are vaguely in the same vein, i don't really see what all the fuss is about them, ok i suppose, but with a bit of a murky sound, but not album of the year material, well notfor me anyway. but then i like the cardigans & dido, so i guess there is no hope for me really.

Really charming, interesting band. I saw them at a festival in Scotland last year. The crowd in the small tent were baffled, and as many of them left looking bewildered, we kept creeping further forward towards the stage to absorb as much of this heavenly din as possible!
Nice to see they've signed a recording contract. Let's hope the label know what to do with them.

Excellent band. Progress.Reform is one of my top 3 albums of 2006, and the new single (Spencer Perceval) is outstanding.

They do sound a bit murky/confused on my naim rig - I have to listen on the proper system.

And you are right - there's no hope!
