iTunes & missing art work
Posted by: badlyread on 01 November 2009
Hi All
Still ripping to the Mac Mini but have encountered a little, but annoying, problem. Some of my album art work is missing. I have checked the box for Apple (Gracenote) to do most of the work for me but the usual method of getting missing stuff is not working: Highlight tracks>get info>drag artwork to box and watch the blue line fill. Since going to iTunes 9.0.2 this does not work.
Any help much appreciated.

Which format are you using? AIFF, WAV or ALAC. I had this problem with WAV - converted the offending files to AIFF and album art work attached fine.

Using Apple Lossless. It was working fine if a little slow with the Screen Sharing, but working.

The little box you add it too, make sure its on 'currently selected' and not set to 'now playing'
You can determine this by a tiny triangle that sits just above it. Not great.

Thanks Garyi that works. There is always more than one way to do things with Apple.

Ok. So how do I remove the wrong artwork that iTunes has collected?

Yeah, I managed to drag the new image to the little box OK, but it still keeps using the old one in cover-flow. I can switch between the two images in the little box using the tiny arrows above it, but it makes no difference to what is displayed in cover-flow.
Any help appreciated.

To remove incorrect artwork in iTunes, highlight the tracks within the CD and right click (Ctrl-Click) and choose get info. Put a tick in the artwork box and click okay. All artwork will then be deleted.

That seems to work nicely.
Many thanks Eloise.
