Has anyone used this programme to restore music and photos from an iTouch to a PC that crashed and has had to be reformatted?

The reinstalled iTunes doesn't want to know and keeps warning that it will wipe any data from the Itouch if I proceed. I have already lost enough data without losing the stuff on both of our iTouches, so I am hopeful that Copytrans could be a solution.

Any thoughts/views?

Yes, I've had success with this, although not quite in the same circumstances.

Essentially it allows you to connect the iPod (in my case) to the computer without it doing a sync, and then export the stuff from the iPod into an iTunes library.

I used it to move my things from a small PC disk to an external HDD with much more space.

Look at the iLounge website - that seems to have plenty on the subject.

Excellent Gavin, just what I needed - and an informative read too. I will get Copytrans as it does seem to be a well recommended solution.
