Remote Control

Posted by: bigmick on 18 November 2002

I've listened to various new Naim systems, love what I've heard but have decided to seek out a used Naim system. However, as a family member has restricted mobility and this means that I must choose an amp with full remote control. Can anyone tell me what what equipment comes with this facility? Also am I right in thinking that all Naim pre and poweramps are compatible?
Cheers

Hi bigmick

i only know about the "old" product line:

- cd players (cd2, cd3, cd3.5, cdx, cdsI, cdsII) are all remote controlled

- preamps nac102, nac82, nac52 are remote controlled

- compatibility: you can power any preamp, except the nac52, with any poweramp, except with the nap250. Again, any preamp can be separately powered by a dedicated supply, such as the flatcap, hicap or supercap. Exception here: the nac52 preamp can only (solely!) be powered by a supercap.

so, a possible remotely controlled setup could be a cdx/nac102/nap180.
