Is it Cheaper to Send Amps Direct to Naim for Recap Rather Than Through A Dealer?

Posted by: markjp on 23 November 2002

Would It be Cheaper for me to Send my Pre and Power Amp direct to Naim for a Recap or would I be charged the same amount if I went through my local Naim dealer?

Also, does anyone know how long Naim take to turnaround Recaps?

thanks

Easy enough to e-mail Naim directly to ask for a quote. This gives you a rough idea although final price depends on what actually needs doing once they open up your boxes. Turnaround 3 to 4 weeks depending how busy they are. You are about to discover for yourself the legendary efficiency and courtesy of their service department.

Do you need to contact Naim to tell them you are sending it?

Guys

No problem in sending repairs direct. It'll cost the same as sending via a dealer. However, it's sometimes beneficial to send back via a dealer because when we return the unit/s it's good that there is someone there to receive, dealers generally being open all day. Also, if you are sending stuff via a carrier it could save you money using the dealers carrier as they usually have an agreed rate which, in my experience, is a lot lower than say the Post Office (sorry Mick)

If any of you wish to send items back for service or repair then they should be back here ON or BEFORE 2nd of December for us to return before our Christmas shutdown Friday 20th

Yes I know, long holiday for us blah blah blah!!

Later
