Some notes on intonation - for those who are interested.

Hey George, I have carefully read all your stories about intonation. i think you have a very clear perception, and I would like more of that to rub off on me :-)

So I am hoping that the first post with substance come from you. I accept your parameters without question and before the fact. I intend to learn something here.

Will you give it a go?

Your friend,
Mike E.

Dear Mike, and dear Stu,

I will post some things about this on the weekend.

As you may know the last three weekends have been tied up with moving house, and so without a break at all during this time - we are very busy at work fortnately - I have got just a bit tired.

Some of it I have posted before, and I will link in the old threads, because they were well enough done at the time, and will also say something about orchestral and instrumental tuning.

Of course as a string player, I am apt to be a little partisan in the sense that I tend to view string tuning as potentially the most perfect among the intruments [usually not as perfect as one might wish], and the choir as having no limitation on quality beyond the ears and talent of the members of it!

This is one area where I have been known to be a bit of a PIA in the orchestra! I could be a little scary to bass players with little care or talent for perceiving and playing what exact pitch the bass was supposed to be sounding!

Catch you all at the weekend.

I have a house-warming party [not by any means yet organised] to fix for tomorrow evening [Friday], and loads to organise on Saturday as well! Basically the organisation of the Party is likely to involve a case of beer and three bottles of Wodka, plus some sausages, gherkins, and bread! KISS at work in this case I think!

Nah! It's only neigbours. Basically a Polish Piss Up!

Sorry! Your invite comes once I have the set not only running, but after the Hi-cap has been serviced and the links [in place of the non-present phono boards] in the 72 have been properly made and inserted.

Then we can have a proper music party, also with beer, Wodka, and gherkins, but with added Haydn and Bach plus other less old music!!!!!!!

No splifs in this house!

I know what Clinton meant when he said that he did not inhale!

I could elaborate, but this is a local Forum, "and we'll have no trouble in a local Forum!" I might add that this was last Friday night/Saturday morning! But I made a good effort at faking it!

It [weed] knocks me for six [puts me instantly to sleep], whereas I can take Wodka all night long and still be lucid when the sun comes up!
