How to clean/ maintain the laser lens on CD5?

Anyone wants to share?

not a good idea to touch the lens.
Best get your dealer to service it.

I use a blower for cleaning the camera lens to blow off the dust on the CD laser lens, and never use anything to touch it.

I find a light rub with 120 grit wet and dry sandpaper usually does the trick

Willip. I use a discwasher CD lenscleaner. It's a CD with small brushes that you can also wet if you like. I bought it because my CDplayer (Arcam Delta270, Philips transport) started to have problems reading discs. I know many say you shall not touch the lens but I have used it few times, it solved the problem and I also feel that it gives a small soundimprovement. I've had it for 2 years so for me it worked good.

Minky rubs his ear lobes with 120 grit wet and dry to improve his listening ability. The resulting roughness of skin grips the soundwaves as they pass and channels them into his ears...

The F&P is a piece of crap. The original "gentle Annie" should have been called the "brutal Annie" and my "smart drive" is ironically the dumbest design in the whole milky way. Maybe they call it that because of the way it makes you feel like smartly driving it to the edge of a cliff. Anyway, I can't wait for it to explode so I can piss out the fire and then have it crushed. Next time I will get a front loading AEG or an ASCO.

Sorry Minky, that's the only Marina I could find - if you wear the right sunglasses and squint hard you might find it appears aqua-marina. Still, the motor's got plenty in common with your aqua-marina.
