Satan is the fifth album. Personally I prefer Elephant and White Blood Cells, but then it may be that the new album needs more listens.

i've listened to the new one quite a few times, and I still don't like it. I much prefer their previous stuff. Got a live album of theirs the other day "the new carpenters", on vinyl. crappy, bootleg quality recording, but OK for interest's sake.

I can only assume it's a grower as its attractions have so far eluded me after about a dozen listens. I was so put off by the unbelievably derivative opening track (Space Trucking meets the In Crowd) that I've trouble taking the rest seriously.
