HDX and DHCP

I thought I might share some 'fun' I had last night with my HDX, setting the IP address.
I forgot to connect the cable to the network, so the HDX booted, couldn't find a DHCP server, and defaulted to a private address.
OK, I figured that after I connected the cable, I could simply restart the HDX (or find a nice utility in the GUI) so it rescans for a DHCP server?
Nope - the only way I could get that to work is to completely power down, and power up again - and I mean the switch on the back - the front panel button seems to be a standby for the internal PC, not a cold boot.

I only tell you this in the hope that it saves some other poor sucker the fun and games of reconfiguring their router and network before thinking of the back panel switch.

Doh!

Section 5.1 of the HDX manual states....

To restore the default DHCP setup, switch the HDX off, connect the network and switch it on again.

Suppose you could have read that first? Hate it when that happens....

Yup - the number of times I've thought "RTFM" when doing tech calls to customers....
