He's definitely not unknown. I've had a copy of his 'Hot Wires' album for about twenty years!

I have a few of his LPs that I bought back in the early 1980s, after I heard a track by him on 'The Guitar Album' (polydor). His tone and fluid playing can often be recognized in the first two notes. His singing voice however is barely-if at all- adequate.

Definitely not unknown. Martin Stephenson & The Daintees' Little Red Bottle was written for him. Little known fact - The Daintees were Roy's backing band on a 1980's European tour.
