Bristol Italian Car and Bike Thing

Posted by: Martin D on 28 April 2005

The Bristol & West Section of the Alfa Romeo Owners Club, together with Bristol City Council, will again host the annual Bristol Italian Car Day from 10am. to 4pm. on Saturday 30th April 2005.

Following the same successful format as previous years, the event will bring some of Italy’s most desirable and charismatic cars into the heart of the Old City. The event will be centred on the St Nicholas Street/ Corn Street area, surrounded by some great restaurants, hostelries and the Saturday market stalls. The display streets will be closed to traffic, creating a pedestrian friendly zone where the cars, parked ‘Italian style,’ may be safely viewed. This is going to be a show not to be missed! The public will have a chance to talk to the car owners and take some great photographs. Admission is free of charge both to entrants and the public, so do come along and spend the day soaking up the Neapolitan atmosphere, enjoying the sights and the sounds of all things Italian.

We are pleased to announce that Dick Lovett Ltd will again be one of main sponsors of the 2005 event, so be prepared to see some stunning cars displayed on their stand. Already promised is the 612 Scaglietti which came into the showrooms at the end of last year, and the latest F430 model, which will be making one of its first appearance's at a car show in the UK at the Bristol Festival.

For all those fans of Fiat Arbarth's, Tony Castle-Millar of Middle Barton Garage near Oxford, has said he will be coming down the show for the first time, and bringing with him a Oscella Group 6 car, and two TCR racing Arbarth's, so we are looking forward to that display. Also just confirmed will be the attendance of up to 10 Lancia Stratos which will sound just great when they drive into Corn Street together.

Fans of Italian motor bikes will not be disappointed either, as we will have a display of Ducatis, and Moto Guzzi, plus the "Riders" dealership will also be bringing so new Italian bikes to the show.

More "Star Cars" will be announced shortly, so watch this space! www.arocbriswest.co.uk

Anyone with an interesting or rare Italian car, who would like to become an entrant in the display, please contact:

Hi Martin,

Meant to thank you for the heads up on this (although I knew about it already). Out of curiosity I just followed your link and then the 'Bristol Italian Car Festival' link. There's a picture captioned 'Lambo attracting the crowds' and on the extreme right hand side, in profile with a small amount of a black top showing is... me!*

Fame at last.

*view at your own risk!!

Cheers!

Richard.

I'd love a Ducati.

I 999 would be nice, but I'd take a 749 Dark.

I tried to explain to my wife recently why it would be better value than a CDS3 but I didn't get very far.

The conversation ended on "It doesn't matter what I think because you will do whatever you want anyway"

Perhaps it should be a CDS3!!!

Deane,

Caption suggestion - Why does this man want a Lambo? Because he's short and ugly!!

Chris,

I'd love a Ducati too - always had my eye on the 748, probably in Yellow. Love the 749 but the 748 will always be my favourite.

At least the only injury caused by a CDS3 would be being crushed should the mountain of CDs it makes you buy topples onto you!!

Bruce,

I love them too! Just put off by them ALL being left hand drive. Frown You probably found this pic already but if not here you go...

I had a good day out and met some really nice Alfa owners - a must for any petrolhead.

Cheers!

Richard.
