When I had Chord Chorus's before they came on song pretty quicly. Like anything else give it a week or two to settle down and you will really see a difference.

Thats a cool answer Ross, we'll stick with that one.
Obviously extremly low level information running through a piece of wire coated in fancy coloured plastic will change how the wire transmits that information (i.e change the sound).
Lets thank god this effect is not known in the catering industry. I was thinking the other day that the new microwave we have at work wasn't performing well, mabye the power lead just needs to 'burn' in.
Now that I have this important information I can finally explain to my girlfriend why the lamp in the living room has slowly over a period of some weeks got a nicer shine to the light, its because the powerlead has 'burned' in suffeicently to allow the full electric to flow properly through.
Thanks!

Oh good god, John, you use mana yes?
That would explain a whole lot of stuff to me.
I have had four racks in my time, three commercially available one hand made.
They all added nothing, nor detracted anything from the sound.
It would be so easy at this stage to simply call me deaf.
If the conclusion to this whole argument is that, then fair enough, I have still saved myself the worry of wether my cables are burned in, or if I truely can hear a differnce when I stick me pre amp (you know that bit with not a lot in) on two layers of glass, (not one)
Now listen up, and listen good, we are all tools of this whole fad, one day hi fi mags will own up and tell us its all bull shit.
In the mean time you sleep well knowing that the really espensive lead you just got, which sounds just like the stock lead you had will eventually sound better through 'burn in', or a terminology better recognised by sane people as 'getting used to it'
If it makes it any better, I love it, I buy leads, I have 'stuff' (said in a Zapperesque kinda way) why just now I installed a special looking power block thing I obtained from work, I am pleased to say it sounds just like the last one but looks so much more industrial.
Umm, industrial, surly I have arrived.
