Time for CDX hospital, or any tips first......

Posted by: Steve Hall on 01 December 2002

My CDX has started to do something wiered.

During play, it will skip a second or two, or decide that the end of the CD has arrived and stop.

I've tweaked the puck loops, recabled, added it to a different channel on the 52 (this was before the last symptom), and finaly decided im stumped.

Anyone any idea's before I book it in for a Salisbury health check?

Setup as per profile.

have you tried to power it down for 5 min. un plug the CDP from all power ,some times the micro processor can get a static shock that can screw it up , powering down it might reset it

Well, its switched off, and disconnected from everything.

I'll leave it a while and see what happens.

Could be static, as I've noticed it more after moving it down a shelf.

I'll update later once I've got the littl'un off to bed and I can play it for a while.

This sounds very similar to my CDX's symptoms when the transport was changed under warranty. Sometimes it would play 2 or 3 discs with no problems then aaaaaaagh! The replacement was carried out by my dealer and took less than a day. No problems since.
