I have it on order from play.com, looking forward to hearing it after being recommended it.

Picked it up on vinyl a couple of months back - excellent. I think she has been mentioned a few times here if you do a search. I wonder if anyone has heard her live yet (probably the Austin TX folk?)

I had the record on order from tower records in the US, but it was taking too long so cancelled it. Would like it on record as its a nice album.

I am a huge Tift fan...actually exchanged a few emails with her receintly. She is working on a new album now.
If you like Emmylou Harris or Cheryl Crow, you'll like Tift. She writes all her own material as well which is refreshing.

Redeye,
What is a Bramble Rose ? What album does it remind you of most ? Is it on local release or did you get an import copy ?
Mark.

I'm quite passionate about certain singers these days...Lucinda, Emmylou being the most obvious. Tift has an utterly beautiful voice and can really SING.
As stated writes all her own stuff and in my opinion has a massive future..
Bramble Rose is her first and only album. Produced by Ethan Johns so it'll show those NBLs off nicely.
Try the title track or 'When I cross Over' for starters.
ps..the album is one hell of a grower
pps..spend a few bucks more and get the US cd from Real Groovy

Redeye,
I am not exactly sure it was either Streetlight in Campbell or Amoeba in San Francisco or perhaps ModLang in Berkeley (I think it was Streetlight - all have web sites by the way) From the Ethan Johns credit I thought it looked interesting and it was a while until I got around to playing it and realising what I had.
