My Linn Klyde is getting a bit long in the tooth - any experience of retipping / servicing etc rather than replacement? Ideally I'd like to keep budget under £200 and not have to replace the boards in my 32.5

I don't think there is a big difference between the two unless your comparing a worn version on a deck that needs a service against a newer replacement on a recently serviced deck.

it should be noted that the coil lead out wires of MC cartridges are subject to a lot of stress and can fatigue to the point of fracture.
I do believe that Vuk experienced the loss of one channel in his old rebuilt Karma from just this type of wear.
Best to ask just what the various rebuilds entail and make a more informed decision whether you should be buying new or servicing your current MC.
