SL2 likes to be activated

Last week i've got the chance to try SL2 active with 2*250 (new).
The sistem was:
CDS3+252+old NAXO 2 (recapped)+supercap+2*250+SL2
That's a different speaker, a lot more PRAT, autority (comparable to NBL passive), more bass (NB !) and much tighter, and increadible dynamics without signs of compression.
Should i dare to say: i prefer them active with 250s than passive with a 300 (and it was with a NAXO without a Burndy).
On an other test, i was not impress by the following setup: same front (CD pre) +300(hights)+2*250 (mids+lows)+supercap+SNAXO3+NBL. On this one the additional 2*250 didn't give better results than a single passive 300. The 300 seems to be waisted by driving the hights only.
So my previous statement should not be heard as if i prefer 250s than a 300 as a general rule.

All opinions are my own, and reflect those of the organisation i work for, even if not stipulated.
