A quarter as good as him, would let you lead most bands, I reckon.

What's Rory's best studio elpee then?

Only record with him on that I've got is the debut record by Taste. So a recommendation if you please.

Thanks Rotf

BTW - The Adverts wrote a song about my guitar playing.

What about the neighbours?

In no particular order (though Calling Card is my personal fave because it was the first Rory I heard)...

Rory Gallagher
Deuce
Blue Print
Tattoo
Against the Grain
Calling Card
started to go a bit harder blues-rock with
Photo Finish (which I still like...)
Top Priority
Jinx
Defender
are the three I listen to least, but are not exactly rubbish!
Fresh Evidence
final studio album, a real resurgence, great album

Just to prove my geekiness, one of my treasured memorabilia items is the Rory Gallagher Irish Stamp First Day Cover.

Funny him being Irish mad me buy my first tartan shirt before I went ot see him in concert many many moons ago. Me being a Scot and all that.

Actually saw him amny times either solo or with Taste.

Later had the priviledge of having more than a few drinks with him at an after gig bash. What a laugh. Great guy.

Great choice. Includes, amongst others, the studio version of my Desert Island Disc song, 'A Million Miles Away' (though I would choose the Irish Tour live version).

If you haven't already ordered/bought it, there is an SHM-CD edition (I am delighted with my SHM 'Calling Card').

1. Live in Europe - essential
2. Top Priority
3. Against the grain.

Very impressed with Tattoo so invested in this

Deuce, Calling Card, Top Priority, Jinx and Fresh Evidence box set for £10 - seemed too good to miss (well three are on your recommended list James - so it still seems good value).

Thanks to all for the recommendations ROTF

In my CD rack - oh that's not what you meant.

Just noticed Amazon has put the price up again, but still only £12 - please click here.

Tattoo sounds great on a CDX2 Big Grin
