Dowie gets the chop.
Charlton have some good payers Darren Ambrose, Darren Bent, Marcus Bent, Matt Holland and Herman Hreidarsson - wonder where they nicked all them from?

Hmmm, can't imagine!
Shame though, as I think he is a good manager. Anyone stepping into Curbs' shoes was on a hiding to nothing, really.

Seeing as Scottyhammer beat me to the Jordan quip, I'll just add that I wonder if we will see the return of Curbs, a la Harry Redknapp going back to Portsmouth?

Not then

oh come on lads why on earth would curbs be remotely interested in a return to the valley.
i know he has since publicly stated that fact but he has taken charlton as far as he possibly could, its time for a new challenge.
i personally thought he would end up in the england set up somewhere. perhaps he should as mcclaren is a prat and always will be in my humble opinion!

Funny you should say that because the last time i saw him was at Carrington (England training base for the games at Old Trafford) back in September. Hmmm...
Anyway, it would seem Charlton have a new boss now Click

another big name replacement then!

They'll not be missed anyway. Has there ever been a more boring team in the Premiership? They've punched well above their weight for years under Curbs. Pity they made you fall asleep watching them do it.

This Palace fan isn't. Dowie is a good coach and he'll be back. Listening to Jordon on R5 say as much and complain that Charlton acted in haste was vomit inducing!
Rumour has it that Dowie's attention to fitness and diet has not gone down well with the Charlton dressing room - who seem to believe that they are so talented they don't need to be that fit. We'll see.
Jordon was at fault with Dowie at Palace by not backing him with a badly needed purchase while we were in the Premiership.
We were relegated on the last day by one miserable point. A very expensive bit of penny-pinching by Jordon at a club where ticket prices are among the highest.
