Hey Colin,

Really sorry to hear about that. Same thing happened to me once, the LP12 didn't hit the ground, it was swinging by the arm leads.

All the best,

Dev

Sorry to hear that. Seems an unfortunately familiar tale though, there have been a few go that way here. Great to hear that you are insured though. What actually gave way?

I had my old Xerxes on a wall shelf, and it stayed well put for best part of ten years until I moved, but hearing of so many decent turntables attempting non-powered flight makes me very reluctant to go that route ever again. I'm lucky in that I don't suffer from any foot fall problems with my P9 on top of my equipment stand, so there it shall stay.

Wall mount was an Audiotech - it had been up for 6 months. Screws pulled straight out the wall. The reason for the wall mount was vibration from heavy traffic rumbling by and a very saggy floor. I think perhaps the vibration over time has worked it loose.

In the process of hitting the floor something electrical has happened and either the tweeter or the x-over on my left N804 has been fried.

I had just bought 2 Fraim levels ( to sit on top of cut-to-size granite slabs) with two more to come. A couple of months from now the wall-mount would have been taken down. C'est la vie.

Blimey Colin!

Firstly Calum and now you have been Fraimed up. RR has some answering to do.

all the best.

If you have solid walls use expanding sleeve bolts to hold it up - the wall will come down before they fall out, but be warned it's possible to split bricks / blocks with these if overtightened.

Alternatively use some of the modern adhesive based fixings that break a vial upon fitting. Adhesive sets and a fab solid fixing results, which you'll then need an angle grinder to remove wink

I reckon you could dance on my Target Wall shelf!

It's true the Fraim's been here for nearly a week and we're all mightily impressed. Even the kids have commented favourably.

I am getting worried about these shelves though. first John in Edinburgh then Colin in Montrose. It's getting closer. Maybe I'll just go check those screws on the shelf. big grin
