Who is your favorite Naim dealer?

And why?

Peter Litwack in Larkspur, CA, USA. He is knowledgeable about Naim gear, keeps me apprised of upgrade opportunities within my budget and has the most eclectic musical taste of any person I know. He turns me on to music new to me all the time. Though I am not a "big spender" he treats me a a valued customer. A great dealer indeed.

and Peter is a very nice chap too!

A third vote for Peter Litwack as a great naim dealer. He is very knowledgable, interesting, and have never felt an ounce of pressure from him. I am saving for a 252, and can't wait to have him demo it for me...

HiFi FoFum in CANADA. Absolutely.

It obviously depends upon the particular sales person, but Audience in Bath is run by a nice bloke (bought a 250 off him not long ago). I often wander in to the Audio-T shops in Camberley, Reading and Basingstoke (bought my CD 3.5 new from Basingstoke and bought the CDX to replace it from a friend of one of the salespeople in Reading). Not sure if they still do Naim, but I've also had kit from Musical Images in Hounslow, and I found Audio Projects in Leeds better than good (but I think they've stopped doing Naim - pity!).

Basically Sound, Norwich

Why?

Visits there since 1981 have prevented me from having a useless pile of money, that I wouldn't know what to do with!

Seriously though folks; Graham, who runs the place, remains enthusiastic, unbiased, and offers sensible advice.

Twenty years of frequenting the dealership has introduced me to, many good friends.

Long may you run.

Hi guys,

Peter Lüthi, Switzerland. If you listen to him you'll never even think about any other brand. And: He is right, Naim is convincing and Peter is as well.

I have heard a lot of good things about this dealer and I think it illustrates how different people view good service. I have only had limited contact with the above and to be honest I was not too impressed! Basically I was treated as a bit of a time waster (I had my wife and child with me) and it was only until they asked what system I had that they talked to me like an adult! It was almost as if they doubted I could afford to shop there? I must have caught them on a bad day or maybe I just look poor!

I totally agree with Santa Cruz. I have nothing but praise for Hamish.

Andrew is his name. Knows his tunes and has a fab shop. The Mrs is popping in for a Tivoli later today actually...

Hi,

Another vote for Andrew in Audience, Broad Street, Bath. I tried my usual 'VoidKompf' test on him a while ago, i.e. ask a bunch of questions about Naim gear you already own so its clear he's not making a sale that day.

He passed with flying colours.

But watch out - he's a Nexus 6!

Regards,

R

Is this the same Andrew Craske who used to work in Infidelity? I heard he's set up shop in Bath a couple of years ago. He is a Very Great Man and has a pretty cool record collection to boot.

Having not experienced Andy's shop, can I nominate Infidelity in Hampton Wick? They're very good at dems, are extremely vinyl-competent, and extremely understanding when you completely ignore their well-considered advice and do something stupid.

Tim

PS Simon - can I have my free 552 now please?

Regrettably, for me at least, my dealer is no longer a Naim dealer.

Doesn't "My dealer" have dependency connotations?

It sounds tremendously sad but I have been saving for a Supercap, and I wanted to buy it from the guy who had lent me an XPS and a supercap to try at home and compare the difference.

OK I have not heard any of the reference series stuff, but (having done a complete about face I love the look of it)and with a potential makeover for my old 250 and xps ...????

Actually it's marginal but I think I'll go for the CDS3 first, then then 552 and then a couple of 500's.

Although my dealer might be able to persuade me otherwise?

Ben from Absolute Sound Singapore. He never tries to sell you anything, yet his customers keep coming back for more. I would like to thank him from saving me from my futile chase for audio nirvana. Cheers.
