Never heard that album Jamie.
FREAKY cover.

Jamie - couldn't agree more! Superb stuff. At first I struggled with it but then suddenly it hit me. Now there isn't a day that goes by without listening to something by Tool.

Munch - You are missing out. Try Lateralus or 10,000 Days first.

The same for me, this was my first Tool album, and I had it 18 months before I could listen to it, then it just clicked.

Sadly long enough to miss the Lateralus tour, which I greatly regret.

I got into A Perfect Circle and from there got into Tool.

I would say to start with this album, but start with 'Schism', 'Parabol/Parabola', or maybe for Munch, being a drummer 'Ticks and Leeches'.

By releasing it this week, it has a very short sales window (for me at least) as I will have no interest in Christmas music for another 11.5 months after Christmas Day. I have searched several stores in London for it to no avail - Zavvi and a small branch of HMV. Amazon had run out of it and now my order is caught up in the Amazon Christmas rush. Hopefully it will arrive on Friday or Saturday so I get a few days of giving it a spin before shelving it. I hope it is good.

Another vote for Lateralus. One of the best ever - but it does take some effort. It took me a couple of years to "get" it.
