On a side note:
Tonight's fireworks from the Sydney Harbour Bridge will be set to the finale of Symphony No.8 in E-flat major by Gustav Mahler.![]()
There are two displays. One at 9pm - not the full display but pretty good for the kids and the main one that will start at midnight for 12 minutes. Sydney is 11 hours ahead.

Your afternoon.
It takes 24h to get here from the UK otherwise I would have said just pop by for a drink.
Next year I plan to be sitting on your balcony with a drink watching it

This album is from 1969 and I've only just discovered what a great record it is.

June Tabor - Ashes and Diamonds, again. June certainly has a way with an Eric Bogle song.
Now I'm easy:
For nearly sixty years I've been a cocky
Of droughts and fires and floods I've lived through plenty
This country's dust and mud have seen my tears and blood
But it's nearly over now, and now I'm easy
I married a fine girl when I was twenty
But she died in giving birth when she was thirty
No flying doctor then, just a gentle old black gin
But it's nearly over now, and now I'm easy
She left me with two sons and a daughter
And a bone-dry farm whose soil cried out for water
So my care was rough and ready but they grew up fine and steady
But it's nearly over now, and now I'm easy
My daughter married young and went her own way
My sons lie buried by the Burma Railway
So on this land I've made my own I've carried on alone
But it's nearly over now, and now I'm easy
City folks these days despise the cocky
Saying, with subsidies and all we've had it easy
There's no drought or starving stock on a sewered suburban block
But it's nearly over now, and now I'm easy
Now I'm easy:
For nearly sixty years I've been a cocky
Of droughts and fires and floods I've lived through plenty
This country's dust and mud have seen my tears and blood

I saw her live in 1974 ,She was the other band on the bill with Supertramp, Crisis tour.
Just her and a guitar.
Loved her ever since.
Didnt know her before that gig though.
Munch
I was mainly referring to the dearth in availability of her albums on cd. When you see a lot of the sh1t that has been 24 bit digitally remastered and then see only one or two of Joan's albums available! Sinful I say.

Haim,
how is the sound quality of these recordings? I've seen some amazing titles in this series but have not yet gotten one.
Cheers ... Oliver
Oliver,
The sound is decent, the music is great. I can't ask for more.
