Julian Joseph - Live at The Wigmore Hall. Not listened to this for ages, I prefer Universal Traveller, but it is much better than I remember it being, must play more often.

Interesting (or not - depending on one's preferences) but the first thread lasted just shy of 3 years, this only made it about six months and reached close to half the length.

Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet from Abbado and the Berlin Phil.

Wow Julian Joseph. Have not played this in well maybe 12+ years or so. One of my earliest jazz purchases way back in 91.

The first batch of CDs I bought in Koln last week. To start, a bunch of ACT CDs that were on offer at 4 euros apiece:

A lovely CD of jazzed up Swedish folf tunes played on saxaphone and guitar/kantalele (like a zither) - relaxing and easy on the ear, without being too easy, if you know what I mean.

A good, solid piano trio recording.

It takes me a while to get the measure of solo piano CDs, but this sounds promising - a mixture of classical works, including Bach's chaconne for solo violin, given the jazz treatment, Coltrane and Ornette pieces, and original compositions. Very interesting approach.

Another CD in ACT's Piano Works series - good, but not as interesting as the first one.

So, no duds so far, and two already sound like winners. More to come in the next few days.

Regards
Nigel

I did, so it's all my fault (though I accept no liability for any expense incurred as a result of the thread - which can be quite a lot!).
