Hardly played this Confused, but will listen more often and look to buy more. It will be interesting to hear how Thea has developed and I would welcome recomendations.

I have this album and enjoy it. I haven't heard any of hear later albums, they seem to get 4/5 stars on AMG.

Why only the one album on the NAIM label though?

Another library disc and my first John Hiatt:-

Is this typical of his output? Any recommendations?

Howard,

I love that album, and also have "Crossing Muddy Water" (more acoustic), "Master of Disaster" (bluesy rockin' with the North Mississippi AllStars), "Perfectly Good Guitar" and "Beneath This Gruff Exterior" (with the Goners) and his "Live From Austin City Limits" dvd.

Have seen him live 4 times, each was unique and terrific. A lot of his success has been writing hits for others, but he has a huge and loyal following - most any show in Portland is sold out.

Over to you, Gian Smile

Jeff - having a good jazz day I see. Have you got Rainer's other album. This is really good.
Going for silly prices on Amazon but I know a place you could get it cheaper.

I think this is one of the finest recordings of the RVW Tallis - it comes with a great rendition of the 6th and at a budget price!

Hi Adrien

My day did start out jazzy (ie: quiet) as the spouse was still sleeping, having to work today.
I took the day off to make it a four day break.

I enjoy the Rainer disc I have, which is a cd replacement reacquired after I sold my vinyl - I had both releases on vinyl. Don't remember how I came upon Rainer other than ECM and I lived near a little record shop in the early '80s that I would browse for hours and sometimes buy stuff just because I liked the covers. Discovered some great music that way - I think this was one of them. Did he play with Mark Isham ? - who I was listening to around that time.

Anyway, this a.m. was the first I had played that in a long time.

best regards

Jeff A
