can't find a pic of the LP sleeve
Posted on: 14 January 2009 by BigH47
I'll give it another go:-
Posted on: 14 January 2009 by Guido Fawkes
Excellent record - I wish I was listening to that rather than conference call live

Struggling to find a picture for the sleeve that matches this original slab of Felstead vinyl

More luck with Art Pepper

and Miles, on Fontana

Mazzy Star - She Hangs Brightly

Play this record for the very first time. And I like it. Will check out more of this band.

another one from the library:-

I'm glad I didn't buy it. Child(ish/like) music. Only the last 3 tracks seemed to do anything for me.
Overall I'd rather listen to the Kinks/Ray Davies

I have just been "blown away" by this album.
If you have any interest in ethnic/crossover music this is a superb example IMO.
Using first people rhythms and instruments and modern studio and programming skills,Robbie's guitar etc the result is a beautiful concoction.

Chronicle, Vol. 1: The 20 Greatest Hits [Import]

1. SUSIE Q
2. I PUT A SPELL ON YOU
3. PROUD MARY
4. BAD MOON RISING
5. LODI
6. GREEN RIVER
7. COMMOTION
8. DOWN ON THE CORNER
9. FORTUNATE SON
10. TRAVELIN' BAND
11. WHO'LL STOP THE RAIN
12. UP AROUND THE BEND
13. RUN THOUGH THE JUNGLE
14. LOOKIN' OUT MY BACK DOOR
15. LONG AT I CAN SEE THE LIGHT
16. I HEARD IT ON THE GRAPE VINE
17. HAVE YOU EVER SEEN THE RAIN
18. HEY TONIGHT
19. SWEET HITCH-HIKER
20. SOMEDAY NEVER COMES

I usually prefer to buy the actual albums, if you know what i mean... but I take my (cowgirl) hat off to the folk who remixed this CD compilation, it begs to be played loudly and this wonderful music digs down deep (with no nasty over-compression).

Highly recommended! : )

FlyMe,

It's probably those Russian cigarettes causing that!

But i see you keep playing this '6 cd box set', so i suppose you are enjoying the music?
I notice on Amazon this set is £17.98 which considering the Melodiya record label is a thumping good 'um this must be quite good value for money too?
Do you recommend the purchase?

I'm beginning to fondle my credit card! : )
