Dear Nymph,

HM Linde is one of those angels lent ever so briefly to us mere mortals, so our lives are all enhanced! I am sure mozart would have agreed on that ...

Jamie, will send you an e-mail later today. What a game - the Cards in the Super Bowl, who would have thunk. The next game should be a battle to the end. No mercy no quarter.

That was brutal, hope Willis McGahee is OK, better get some sleep.

The broadcast in Australia cut out right after the game, haven't heard anything on Willis' status. I know him well from his playing days at UM, it reminded me of the brutal injury he got in the NC game against OSU. I hope for the best.

Cards agaist Steelers - should be fun.

Good Morning to you George,

Yes! This is one of the very first cd's i ever owned, the very familiar musik that is so easy to overlook in ones collection and pass by for something more recent and dynamic…
but i always find it so rewarding when i do decide to play this again.
The flute play is quite divine.

Also on this album, I always feel more than a bit sorry for Mr Salieri, who was portrayed so deviously in the film 'Amadeus'.
Such a fantastic film which is one of my favourite, albeit a ripping yarn! : )

warmest regards
nymph

Dear Nymph,

Am myself enjoying some very special Mozart performances from the lovely Danish tenor Aksel Schiotz:

As downloaded earlier from amazon.co.uk, from the Danacord Cd release.

Not everything superb is exactly modern. If you have seven pounds spare I really recommend you down load this. The only thing, sub-par, is the live recording of the Solomon, and Acis and Galathea arias, recorded live during rehearsal, which suffer with dodgy recording and overweight orchestral delivery from the Stockholm Philharmonic. The rest with Danish accompaniment - Bach, Handel, and Haydn, is stylish by any standard, and the visiting of the romantics in Tchaikowski [Eugene Onegin] and Gounod [Faust] is more than simply enjoyable! A special treat is a handful of Dowland Lute Songs which manage to be serious without being maudlin ...

I don't know if it is good morning or good night, but certainly it is best wishes from me!

George

This was actually a gift I bought for my friend who came over tonight. He's a huge pipe organ fan and grew up with one in the house.

We listened to the entire performance on the Briks.
What an experience... both of us were speechless afterwards.

Have quite a few Glenn Gould recordings but not this one - you got me interested.
