What's this? One of the EPs?

Just released yesterday - 4 new songs. From Amazon

"Since becoming a landmark indie success story in 2008, Justin Vernon (better known as Bon Iver) continues his ascent to greatness with this EP release, 'Blood Bank'. While his most notable success, the 'For Emma, Forever Ago' album, is a frosty and remote acoustic affair, this recording is significantly more upbeat and is the first Bon Iver release to feature a full backing band. It marks something of a growth for Vernon, as he makes Bon Iver into something more than the 'one man in a room' aesthetic of his début".

Jamie,
Are they live gig downloads?

Hi Munch, I presume you are asking about the Steely Dan I am trying. I have grabbed some low grade MP3 studio tracks, and also an outtakes & demos bootleg of the 'Gaucho' sessions.

I am really enjoying a few of the well known tracks, 'Reelin' in the Years', 'Haitian Divorce', but will have to listen through a few other tracks to get a feel for them.

I am being reminded of something Ian Anderson said in the BBC documentary of prog rock, about how he feels current bands do not seem to have 'joy' in their playing, and that is one thing that Steely Dan certainly do have in what I have listened to so far.

As far as listening to MP3's, I really do not like them (MP3's not Steely Dan), and 128Kbps makes harmony vocals sound terrible. They are just as tasters, although I know many people are quite happy to have such copies to fill MP3 players.

Yes, Biber was one of my discoveries of 2008. I still need to get round to buying the two CDs of his sonatas on ECM. Right now:

Nigel,

I took advantage of a closing sale and got around 20 W&W tiltes at 50% off. I will post many of them over the next few days as I work myself through them and will in future include a quick synopsis. Cool

Cheers ... Oliver

DVD, Live in your Living Room (2D version). Those who are going to the Wembley concert this year are in for a real treat.

Finally got here, after being fleeced by customs for £15.73 and Parcel Force ripping off an additional £13.50 (which apparently just covers their costs, according to the reply to a polite but disgusted email I sent).

Still the music is fantastic, and Tony Williams is in particularly good form on disc1.
