Listening to du Pre play the Bach cello suite no. 1 in G. I have several recordings by different artisits of this - du Pre treats it with much more subilty than most, sort of a different beast with her.

One of two Wagner cd's given to me over 10 years ago, and to date i have not played either one all the way though, just part of, and stopped... due to subject boredom.
This time i may not hear this all though due to running out of time (need to go to work v soon).

I think this musik can get very over-bloated quite often, although it has it's moments of interest, but for me it needs visual stimulus, it sounds to incidental, for Opera supposedly?, although it reminds me of crappy 1950's film background musik.
For home audio entertainment imho this is more than slightly boring and i would rather be playing something else.
Shame, the cd sound engineering and replay quality is absolutely superb!

I think to appreciate the Beethoven piano sonatas you need a little and often, so tonight it is No. 29 "Hammerklavier" follows by No. 8 "Pathetique"

Cool. It must be one of my most played albums ever.

I remember putting Felt Mountain on the first time I tried some Naim, and thinking, I'm having some of this if that's how it's supposed to sound. Magic.

Anyhow...

Munch, you could have tried The Flaming Lips' Zaireeka while you had everyone over today:

I've never even seen it, let alone heard it, but you just need four cd players, four amps, and eight speakers so you can play all four (different) cds at the same time. In case you've no idea what I mean, find it on Amazon or Wiki for an explanation.

I bet it's pants!
