Thank you for that - recently re-bought my vinyl Sefronia on CD. Prefer Tim to the boy.

Pleasure - thanks for providing a great place to socialise with like minded people and find great new and old music on line Smile

Re: Ommadawn, I like it, I realise that I have heard it before, not too bad an album I think there may be a pressing fault. I'll give it a clean tomorrow and see.

Have also been in a Mike Oldfield mood today, was working to 'Ommadawn' earlier.

Like many here I've listened to a favourite John Martyn album tonight.

on the shelf next to John Martyn was

Frank Black's first solo outing after the Pixies.

Excellent album cruelly overlooked. Quite a long time since I listened to it but the years have not dimmed it's greatness.

Haim,

How is his performance compared to Martha or Michelangeli?

Kuma,

I don't have Argerich playing Debussy so I can only compare the two men who are both excellent pianists.

I would say that Michelangeli's playing is much more energetic and sparkling and Bavouzet's is morw articulate and thoughtful. So it comes to the question of what mood you are in. If you feel like being carried away by the music go with the Italian guy, and on the other hand, if you prefer to just relax with the music then you should listen to the French pianist.

Disc 2 would be a good place to start with Bavouzet since it is all music not recorded by Michelangeli.
