Hi dean,
Yes all of them. Was at the alice rusell gig at the haie and houngds last year - new album. He and the band were great. Quantic was in the crowd. She is superb. Keep waiting for new dates this year, but nothing south of the border!
Any other recommendations? I know you listen to some funky stuff!

THE PHANTOM BAND : Checkmate Savage (Glasgow 2009)
This album moved me already the very first play in the record shop. Early 2009 some said Animal Collective already had made one of the best 2009 pop records. This debut album gets the same positive comment and reviews. The music is very good with a right dose of electronic sounds. Production is good too.
Clash Music writes:
"Checkmate Savage is their debut, so how, exactly, do they come on like an old, dear friend?
Partially because the influences they wear proudly upon their twelve sleeves – they’re a sextet – are so broadly painted; elements of iconic Krautrock are weaved into an already rich tapestry of gently swooning indie-rock comparable to Frightened Rabbit, while thick organ licks run rampant, laying down a heavy-heavy sound atop a whole that’s quite masterfully arranged. What The Phantom Band do is absolutely nothing new, but that’s why it seems so perfectly in tune with one’s tastes – it is one’s tastes, subtly reconfigured for a fresh release.".
Lovers of pop music must have a try....

Thanks Jeff, I had tried that but opened the page for the disc first and it came with junk attached, here's another go with what followed.

You are making me feel old !!!

I remember watching the late night Dick Cavett show and Sly was a guest - let's just say Sly wasn't in this reality that night, sitting in the chair staring at the studio ceiling while DC attempted to interview him. But, he and the Family certainly created part of the soundtrack to those years of my life.

It's easy for us to suggest that these albums are 'old hat', but it's worth pointing out that these guys did it first, and arguably, best.
