Ravel "Bolero". Dutoit and l'Orchestre Symphonique de Montreal on an SHM Decca cd. 25 years ago yesterday that Torvill and Dean got straight 6s at the Sarajevo Olympics, dancing to a 4m38s version of this mesmerising piece.

Did not get this album when I first bought it , on vinyl of course, then had a Ekos2 fitted to my deck and BAM!! I got it, superb piece of piano playing. Big Grin

I love a lot of kinds of pop music. It seemed to me that this record is loved bij everyone, but my repeated listenig had the same result as you describe: lovely music but not more than that...

It's obviously a Marmite thing with Fleet Foxes. I don't like guitar based bands anymore...I really feel with the likes of Killers, Coldplay,Kings of Leon etc if that is all it can offer it's over. But I do see Fleet Foxes as crafting great songs...maybe Elbow aside, I can see nobody else doing this nowadays.
