The church of Sct.Jacobi which harbours this Stellwagen organ is not identical with the cathedral of Lübeck (Dom zu Lübeck). Neither is Marienkirche for that matter.

Dear Pe zulu,

You are certainly right!

I always think of it as Lubeck Dom, as that is what our friend RdS once refered to it as! It stuck with me, and inspecting the CD leaflet shows my mistake!

The Saint Jakobi Church it is!

what are all those funny CP35-30** codes? : )

Nymph,

they are the catalogue numbers, many CP35s (or CP32s) are Black Triangles (early Japanese CD pressings) which look like the one below.

Cheers ... Oliver

Thanks Oliver,

i thought you were quoting the prices in Cuban Peso's! : >

...my cd copy of Herbie Handcock Maiden Voyage is on Blue Note label but the 'outer case' looks the same : )

Playing cd no.1 of 10 cd box-set of Helmut Walcha Orgelwerke on the 'Documents' record label, (and appearing used-as-new for under a tenner on Amazon!).
At half way thought the first disc the quality so far imo is excellent considering the age of these recordings.

The Archiv Produktion 12 cd box-set is available new & used at over 50 quid, although this version may be a better account of Bach's organ works (and not to mention maybe of better digital engineering quality too), i really don't know, but at the price the 'documents' box-set is very good value for money!

I'm very pleased! : )
