Excellent choice Jeff.
LC can inject more emotion into a single syllable than some singers can in an entire album.

What do you think? Have you got her first album?

Only played it once while I was doing chores at home but I liked it though it sounds a little 'busy' for folk music? I'll probably play it again over the weekend.
I don't have the first album, should I get it?
Gordon
I love the first album, probably my favourite album of last year (though it may have been released the year before). It was also a Rough Trade album of the year (again I think 2007). It is quirkier than this but in my opinion clearer and less 'busy'. The new album sounds better on the hi fi than'in my ears'. She is quite 'american folk music' and lovely for that. I saw her at the Green Man festival and have tickets to see her in March, she is playing around at the moment dates here
This album is a grower but not sure it is in the league of the first though maybe more 'grown up'.
regards
Diccus

Enjoying it. Somewhere in my past I had one of his recordings so the vocal style was not unexpected. And of course, many of the songs have been covered. Thanks, again, for your input.

Interesting... Grabbed this CD, today, because of the interestingness of the prpogram. Can't wait to put it on, later...

Stefan, everything but the Beethoven is good, but am not quite sure that the Kreutzer needs to be played quite so aggressively. Will be interested in your thoughts. I have Perlman and Ashkenazy burned in my brain and am finding it difficult to buy into this very different approach - she can play though!

David,
Great album,
Shame you got the US cover though![]()
I have the Japanese Black Triangle of this album and to my surprise it uses the censored cover as well.
Most disappointing.
