I bought a promo copy when it came out, and got a pressing from before the headline had to be blanked out (Dewi Defeats Truman), not sure if it is worth anything, have never seen another one though. Still my favourite Rush album, and the first tour I saw them on too.

~<>~ Georg Philipp Telemann (1681-1767) ~<>~

Concerti for Oboe,
Strings and Basso Continuo

Side One...
Concerto in E minor
Concerto in D minor

Side Two...
Concerto in C minor
Concerto in F minor

Han de Vries
baroque oboe (Gottlieb Crone, Leipzig, um/c./vers 1735)

Alma Musica Amsterdam

Stereo/Digital LP @ 1982 EMI Records Ltd.

Despite the rather dodgy looking fruit bowl on cover, and all the musik in a minor key, this is actually quite uplifting and very pleasing to the ear.
All the instruments used are very of the period, and the oboe has a very pleasant tone : )

He sure can lay down the Blues and it feels like he's sitting in my living room with me. I even poured out a glass of the good stuff for him. Winker

On very elderly looking vinyl...

Side One...
Elgar
The Enigma Variations

Side Two...
Vaughan Williams
Fantasia On a Theme by Thamas Tallis

Philharmonia Orchestra
Sir Malcolm Sargent conductor

I don't know how old this record is, but it's quite heavy and has an early 60's print look about it, i'm finding the music quite enjoyable, no doult helped by the nice condition of the vinyl, i really didn't expect it to replay so well. This is very pleasing! : )

Good Morning Oliver! ...oh sorry, i don't know what time it is in part of the world! ; )

... it's not bad for £2.99
I think the present bargains prices in old classical vinyl is home audio's best kept secret!

In a Summer Garden
Intermezzo and Serenade from Hassan
A Song before sunrise
La Calinda (Dance from the opera Koanaga)

Nymph,

7pm local time in Sydney - when I see your posts it makes me wish I had vinyl playback right now. Buy some used vinyl here and there but it's kind of difficult to ship it around the world with me. 6 weeks in an overheated container is just not the right treatment. Will get a TT once I live back in the US again.

Cheers ... Oliver

I love those Phase 4 recordings, only my Living Stereo's get more affection.

An older copy of this, different cover on black stuff...I don't like hifi'y stuff generally, but this does sound amazingly realistic...
