Hello ken,

Depending on what you're interested in, I would suggest a few alternatives:

- If it's simply music you're interested in, there's a nice low cost box set dubbed "The Collection" that has been released lately (only in Europe I think). You get Songs of Leonard Cohen (1968), Various Positions (1985), I'm Your Man (1988), The Future (1992) and Ten New Songs (2001) in small vinyl-like sleeves with no details.

- If you prefer to have the individual albums, with sleeve notes and all, I would suggest you try the wonderful Ten New Songs (2001), New Skin for the Old Ceremony (1974) and something earlier, maybe Songs of Love and Hate (1971). If you don't fear the synths and rhythm boxes, you can add I'm Your Man (1988) which is great (but I listen to Various Position (1985) more often).

- If you care for the "source first" principle, then here is a thread on stevehoffman.tv on the recent remasters. Apparently, you're safe with The Essential on this front.

Have fun!

HTH

"Traditional Crossroads presents an incredible archival collection of the greatest female singers of Istanbul from 1920 through the mid 1940s, the golden era of Turkey’s cabaret-style nightclubs. Digitally remastered from the original metal parts, the voices on this recording can be heard for the first time with remarkable clarity."

Thanks Huw,

I will look for it. I have a lot of works of Egarr (with Manze) including Bach, Biberm Mozart & corelli.

This one is excellent. I never stop playing it:

Hope that you are back to the USSR (meaning that your back is much better).
