Borodin Quartet - Borodin quartet No. 2 & Shostakovich quartet No. 8; always sounds new. At the moment I am in a Borodin quartet phase, but there are many commendable versions of these quartets.

In a sense of fair play I gave this another (short) listen.It still sounds like a group of 5 year olds let loose in the school music room.(None of these children were equal to Beethoven BTW).
