Nigel - I don't think you will find "unevenness" as you listen to the other four discs. It is all good and a wonderful document of a series of concerts in Japan.

Enjoy.

I was thinking of the Penguin Guide's review of this set - but then Cook and Morton come across as rather ambivalent about Jarrett. I'll make my own mind up, of course. Winker

Jet,

Dicuss will tell you that I know one of the guys that runs the Jumping Hot Club so I could probably get on the guest list, just not sure I fancy spending a whole day at the Academy.

The Nak I have is an LX-5 (scroll down page a bit) , but it has developed in intermittent tape squeal which means it probably needs some work doing on it. It may not be cost effective to do this, and ultimately may be cheaper just to buy another Nak. I have e-mailed my query to the Classic Nak service guys at B&W.

Got a lovely BX300-E for my Mum the other day, £99 bargain from Lintone via e-Bay, which is in better condition than mine!

See you on the 25th, I will be one of the ones in the bar code top, in the away end.

Regards

Nic

Jet,

They will also be cutting loose in the Toon at the Boss Sounds festival at the Carling Academy next week. See Jumping Hot Club link for details.

Opeth - "Deliverance"

Even though I am playing it via my Arcam rDock from a compressed mp3, it is fair to say it rocks

I had one in the 70's changed it for the next model up ,and still have it.
You can still get them fixed.

Thanks to Dean...

I hadn't listen to this one for a good 10 years, and it took me some time to find it hidden on my shelves. As I've upgraded quite dramatically since then, it's really like a new discovery! And it's really good too.
(Had the same feeling with the Capercaillie inspired by BigH, so many thanks guys for offering me new CDs! Smile )
